Ex-DGP punished for child molesting 14 year old girl

Ex-DGP(Director General of Police) of Haryana ( an Indian state) SPS Rathore was held guilty for molesting a 14 year old budding sportsperson Ruchika Girhotra in August 12, 1990. It took more than 19 years for the court to convict the ex-DGP SPS Rathore who was of IG rank at that time.

Change of leadership in BJP

Nitin Gadkari of Maharashtra has become the new BJP ( Bharatiya Janata Party) on Saturday, 19th December 2009, succeeding Rajnath Singh.

A day before, L K Advani resigned as leader of opposition in Loksabha ( Lower House) paving way for Sushma Swaraj to become leader of opposition. Most probably, this completes “Rule of Women” in India now. India has women as President, Speaker, Chairperson of ruling UPA ( United Progressive Alliance) and now leader of opposition.

Finally, Telengana is a state

New Delhi, Dec 2009 : Union Home Minister of India, P. Chidambaram late Wednesday announced that the process of forming a separate state of Telangana would be initiated and a resolution would be moved in the Andhra Pradesh assembly.
‘The process of forming the state of Telangana will be initiated. An appropriate resolution will be moved in the state assembly,’ Chidambaram said in a statement in the capital.

More blast in Pakistan and Indian angle

There was another bomb blast today in Peshawar, a border city in Pakistan. It was fifth attack in this city which took place today in a police check point killing at least 13 people. As usual, it was suicide bombing attack, reportedly by Taliban which detonated a truck laden with explosives.
